It's not who we are —
it's where we've been.
gittikgördük is an anonymous travel journal. We book under our own names, pay our own bills, accept no invitations and owe nobody anything. Wherever we go, we go first: we take the photos ourselves and write only after living it. We collect stories as much as meals — the little-known history of a city, researched properly before a single word is written. Our goal is simple: whoever reads us before a trip should arrive prepared — for the history, the food, and the corners nobody talks about. If we wrote about a place, there is only one reason: we went, and we saw.
Our method
- We visit every place as ordinary customers: bookings under our own names, bills from our own pocket. We accept no invitations, sponsorships or paid collaborations.
- Scores are out of 10 and only given to restaurant experiences, weighing food, service, atmosphere and value together. Guides and history pieces are not scored.
- Historical facts are grounded in ancient sources and current research; if we are not sure, we don't write it. Photos are our own unless stated otherwise.
